THE MISSION

This multi-year documentary follows Vietnam veteran Dick Winters as he continues a lifelong mission to walk beside wounded soldiers and their families. Through their voices and shared memories, the film becomes a living testament to courage, loss, and the quiet strength that binds generations of warriors together.

THE EXECUTION

Winters’ Watch is an intimate documentary that follows veteran and advocate Dick Winters as he continues a lifelong mission to serve those who have borne the weight of war. Long after his own years in uniform, Dick has devoted his life to walking beside wounded soldiers—helping them rebuild not only their lives, but their sense of belonging, hope, and purpose.

Through a series of personal visits, the film journeys with Dick across the country as he reconnects with the men and women whose stories have become interwoven with his own. From quiet conversations at kitchen tables to laughter shared in living rooms and backyards, Winters’ Watch captures the deep bonds forged through shared sacrifice and compassion. Each encounter reveals a story of resilience, loss, and renewal—and the lasting difference one man’s steadfast presence can make in the lives of those still fighting unseen battles at home.

Ultimately, Winters’ Watch stands as both a portrait of service beyond the battlefield and a testament to the power of presence—the sacred act of showing up, listening, and standing beside those who once stood for us.

LEGACY LINE

UNCLE DICK

"Hey... It is what it is."

Winters' Watch stands as a tribute to our partner in crime—a man who never seeks the spotlight but always shows up. He’s cheered us through jump school, gifted Hershey socks and Airborne tees, shared chowder at his favorite local spot, and offered the quiet strength of his steady presence and tenacious spirit—even in our darkest hours. We’re proud to call him our dear friend and “uncle”—and prouder still to carry forward the stories he represents. With deepest gratitude and enduring love—thank you, Mr. Dick Winters.

MEET THE TEAM

DICK WINTERS

Vietnam War Paratrooper • Wounded Warrior Advocate • Champion of Fort Campbell

Dick Winters, born in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is a Vietnam War veteran whose legacy extends far beyond the battlefield. Drafted into the U.S. Army in 1968, Winters served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and the elite 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment. Over nearly 30 months in Vietnam, he led long-range reconnaissance patrols (LRRP), sustained multiple combat injuries, and completed more than 260 military jumps—earning his place among the airborne elite.

Though a cousin to the famed World War II commander Major Dick Winters of Band of Brothers, this Winters forged a legacy entirely his own—first in combat, then in decades of quiet, steadfast service to others. Marked by the memory of how Vietnam veterans were treated upon their return, Winters resolved that no soldier from Iraq or Afghanistan would ever feel that same abandonment. At his own expense, he began visiting wounded servicemembers daily at Walter Reed Army Medical Center—offering not only supplies and advocacy, but presence and friendship.

Over more than 20 years, Winters made upwards of 120 trips to Fort Campbell, walking with families through the shock of trauma and standing in the gap for those who couldn’t speak for themselves. In 2010, he was named a Champion of Fort Campbell—a fitting tribute to a man who continues to serve long after his uniform was hung up. When asked what achievement means most to him, he doesn’t hesitate: “Walter Reed.”

BY BLOOD & BY BOND

As daughters, granddaughters, nieces—by blood and by bond—we are moved to remember those who gave everything for us: our country, our freedoms, our future. Many we will never meet, but their courage compels us. Their sacrifice inspires us. They are why we do what we do. Because their stories deserve to be told—and never forgotten.

OUR VETERANS

These are the veterans connected to our team—fathers, grandfathers, uncles, brothers, and friends. We honor their service by sharing their faces here, and their stories within this effort.
